B'nai Mitzvah Program

The B'nai Mitzvah program is designed to integrate the many different facets of our childrens' learning into a year-long process of sharpened skills,opened hearts, and deepened souls. The students master the chanting of theirTorah portion, its accompaning Haftorah, and the leadership of the Shabbat morning service. They explore their weekly portion towards writing their "d'var", or commentary, and experience the challange and thrill of completing a difficult yet engaging task. The students are supported by teachers, individual tutors, and families in their efforts.
The progam is open to children who have completed at least two years of Religious School at the UVJC and requires a full year of study.
