School Schedule

Our commitment to lifelong learning begins with the UVJC religious school, under the direction of our educator, Lydia Sarnevitz. The Religious school program is available to the children of members from pre-school all the way through high school. The program meets on Sunday mornings and also, for grades 4-7, Tuesday afternoons. Regular family educational programs are available throughout the year. These include workshops on topics such as Shabbat and Passover, as well as regularly scheduled Havdalah Shabbaton programs.
Study toward the Bar and Bat Mitzvah is incorporated into the religious school curriculum and includes individual tutoring as well as group classes. These ceremonies are a joyous occasion for the entire community.
At the UVJC we believe that learning does not end with the Bar or Bat Mitzvah ceremony. Our confirmation program, under the direction of Rabbi Boraz, studies many important topics relevant to today’s youth. Post B’nai Mitzvah teenagers are also given the opportunity to be teaching assistants in the younger grades.
Adult learning is also emphasized at the UVJC. Programs include classes in both conversational and liturgical Hebrew, a Talmud study group, holiday workshops, and a monthly speaker series.

If you have any problems or need any information regarding the school please contact the Director of Education.
