"How to Force a Biblical Book: Evidence from the Ancient World" Lecture by Edward Wright
Haldeman 041, 4:00 P.M.
This event is free and open to the public.
Several books in the Greek version of the Jewish Bible were demonstrably not written by their alleged authors. This fresh look at these "false," "secret," or "hidden" books will display the great diversity that existed in earliest Judaism and Christianity.
J. Edward Wright is Professor of Hebrew Bible and Early Judaism at the University of Arizona and has served as the Director of the Arizona Center for Judaic Studies there since 2000. He received his Ph.D. from Brandeis University and did additional graduate study at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem and the Harvard Divinity School. Professor Wright joins us at Dartmouth again this year, having taught as a Visiting Professor three terms over the years of 2006-2008.
Sponsored by the Jewish Studies Program at Dartmouth. Sunday, February 28
