Lunch and Learn
What’s Jewish about Science Fiction

with Fred Lerner
Saturday, November 13 at 11:30 am
In-person and via Zoom

Fred is a lifetime SF fan and student of American science fiction. He contends that essential aspects of Jewish values and tradition have influenced the visions of the future imagined by Jewish writers. And not just Jews — many gentile SF writers learned their trade in a publishing environment heavily influenced by Jewish colleagues and editors.

Fred has written a history of “Modern Science Fiction and the American Literary Community” and his story “Rosetta Stone” was published in Year’s Best SF 5. He hopes someday to find a publisher for his science fiction novel.

Please contact the UVJC office if you plan to attend.
