Camp Kehillah at Kol Ha’Emek

Kol Ha’Emek is starting a Day Camp in Hanover this summer, called Camp Kehillah! In conjunction with the Jewish Communities of Vermont, and supported by the Segal Family Foundation, we are hoping to enroll 15-20 students for our inaugural season.

The program debuts August 17-21, 2026 during the “shoulder season” between the end of summer and the first week of school when lots of families are looking to fill the gap in child care coverage. This daycamp will feature activities such as holiday themed arts and crafts—we will finally have time to make Purim costumes!, Maccabiah games and board games, music, theater, Israeli dancing, hikes and nature exploration in nearby Pine Park, campfires and s’more roasting, challah and rugelach baking, Israeli cooking, a field trip to a water park, and many other fun things. All of these activities will be infused with Hebrew vocabulary and Jewish values.

The camp will be led by seasoned education and camp director Melissa Herman, along with a team of counselors drawn from Dartmouth students and high school students. The campers are ages 5 through 10, and the cost features a sliding scale starting at $25 per camper per day, including lunch and snacks. Send any questions to Melissa

We are considering a day trip to a water park, which could involve an extra fee to cover transportation and ticket costs.

I acknowledge that a $100 deposit, by check or credit card, per camper must accompany each application. Deposits are non refundable as of May 1, 2026. Balances may be paid in 2 installments on May 31, 2026 and June 30, 2026. All camp balances are due in full by June 30, 2026. Applications after June 30, 2026 must be accompanied by full payment. Completed medical forms, proof of medical insurance coverage, camper liability waiver, and all camp forms (sent to families in mid-May) are due no later than June 30 and are required before your child may attend camp.(Required)

In case of accident or serious illness, I request that the director of Camp Kehillah contact me. If the director is unable to reach me or if circumstances are urgent, I hereby authorize Kol Ha’Emek/UVJC personnel to seek emergency medial care, including transportation to the emergency room. I hereby authorize the physician in charge to administer whatever treatment necessary at my expense.

Children at Camp Kehillah may be photographed and recorded for the purposes of educational enrichment, member engagement, and publicity. By giving approval, it is understood that you, as the child’s legal guardian, grant permission to Kol Ha’Emek/UVJC, its employees and its legal representatives, to publish, without charge, images taken of your child in conjunction with camp. These images may be used in publications, including audio/visual presentations, promotional literature and/or advertising.
