We work hard to ensure that your teen’s journey in Judaism does not end with the b’mitzvah celebration. Registration to participate in this engaging, three-part program is at the bottom of this page:
The first component is a youth group, called the Jew Crew, led by Education Director Melissa Herman and selected Dartmouth students. The youth group meets twice per quarter (fall, winter, spring), and does group mitzvah projects, goes on Jewish social outings, cooks Jewish food, does Jewish music and art projects, holds intellectual discussions, engages in Torah and Talmud study, watches Jewish-themed films, and does other enriching activities. The 2025-26 trip is to Boston; register here.

The second component to our teen programming is becoming a madrich/a (assistant teacher). Each madrich is assigned to a classroom at the Hebrew school to shadow and assist the classroom teacher in order to gain exposure to teaching techniques related to Hebrew acquisition and Judaic studies.

The third component is taking the Crew on a trip to a place of Jewish interest (Boston, NYC, Montreal, etc.) to meet up with other Jewish youth for shabbat and see/do Jewish cultural things together.
