Art and Music

Musical and artistic expression are two crucial ways that we express ourselves both spiritually and culturally. These arts can add to the ruach of our congregation while allowing members of our congregation to engage with our tradition in a way more visceral than mere study or prayer.

In the past, the Roth Center had a choir that performed at the High Holidays and during special Shabbat services. Currently lacking a music director, an ‘official’ choir is no longer in place, but we often pull together singers and musicians to lead services or perform for various events.  We also have several congregants who play guitar or keyboard for events at the synagogue.

There are many visual artists who are part of our Jewish Community, and we periodically exhibit their art in the Roth Center.

If you are interested in having your artwork featured in the main Roth Center hallway, please contact Administrator Chris DePierro at . If you are interested in becoming musically involved at the synagogue, please contact Board member ">Kathy Parsonnet or Ruach Committee member ">David Hoffer. If you would be interested in volunteering to serve as either a music director or curator of art exhibits by UVJC members, please contact our rabbi at /">. The Upper Valley Jewish Community wants to foster the artistic expressions of its congregation.
